Scrap Sculptor
In this game you take on the role of an artist with a very special talent: Everything you touch turns into shiny metal. Through years of practice, you were even able to produce copper, silver and gold! You use this ability to create unique pieces of art. One of your favorite subjects is trash. Scraps, waste and all sorts of leftovers – instead of leaving them in the bin, we take them into the studio. Join together flying pieces of scraps by clicking on them and embrace your unique trash sculpture creation.
This game was made in 48 hours as a part of the Game Maker’s Toolkit Game Jam 2021. All the art as well as all the code was made and implemented during the Jam by two people. At the end, time got a bit short, but we hope you'll still have fun!
How to play
Joined together
This year’s theme was clearly not an easy one, but we're still happy with the result of our game. Previous ideas included a stacking game, where the player creates a structure that connects different geometric shapes, a 2d game where the player connects rivers of different colors to mix them (or keep them unmixed!) and an IKEA table building simulator.
We were really drawn to the idea that the player can permanently join items together to create a unique structure every time. After settling on the idea that the player joins flying items together, we started thinking about a setting. At first, we liked the idea of a blacksmith, then we though about an archeologist who creates crazy dinosaur sculptures. At last we settled for trash though, because we thought it would create a more interesting structure.
About us
As we are siblings, we have closely worked together on this project.
Hi! I’m Maria, I’m a 21-year-old Game Design student in my 6th semester from Germany. I have worked with Unity for about three years now and am happy to show what I have learned in this Game Jam. I wrote the game’s code, implemented to Assets & the UI and made the VFX/Shaders/Materials for the game. Everything I did in the project was created during the jam.
Hello, Daniel here. I am 19 years old and currently in a vocational training to become a graphic- and web designer. This is the second game jam I have worked on. My job was to create the art for the game - this includes the initial concepts, color palettes, 3D models, textures, sound effects as well as music and UI. On the last day of the jam, I also focused on the presentation of the game online. The game assets were created in blender, the music was made in GarageBand. We have used sound effects from different online sources that require no crediting.
Thank you for playing and commenting!

A very interesting game, had a bit of a katamari damacy vibe with the buildup of random objects. My highest score was 3040, I just wish I could have figured out how to move the view on my first go.
thank you for the feedback, yeah the camera definetly could haven been better ahahaha :D
